QLab is a project that aims to develop a MATLAB-like engine for doing calculations, with some added features and advantages.
The main idea behind the Qlab project is to develop open source software which will support complex mathematical calculations. It is being developed by Faculty of Mathematics, University of Belgrade and it's supported by Microsoft Academic Community Serbia. The project is written on .NET platform. It is published under MS-RpL.
The main subject of the conference was “New trends in developing information systems”.
Miroslav Marić, Aleksandar Đenić, Marko Mladenović presented the project with a paper named: “Developing open source applications on Universities, Qlab project of Faculty of Mathematics, Belgrade”.

Finally, the big day has come to present the project on the place where it started – at the Faculty of Mathematics.
On the 28th and 29th of May, conference Mathematics and its appliances was held at the faculty.
Students Marko Mladenović and Aleksandar Đenić talked to their peers and professors about the Qlab project, how it is implemented and how they can join the project.
Aleksandar Đenić has visited Software Engineering Education and Reverse Engineering 10th Workshop, which was held from the 5th to the 12th of September in Ivanjica, Serbia.
Aleksandar introduced Qlab project to a broader public, as the Workshop was visited by experts and professors from different parts of Serbia and other countries in the region.
